Mentioned are JOHN VAUGHN and STEPHEN VAUGHN who came from Wales. Stephen's son
GIDEON purchased land in Cumberland Co in 1836, and his sons CHRISTOPHER and RUFFIN

PETER HILDRETH, who m. 20 Oct 1804 in Livingston Co KY, SARAH VAUGHAN. Sarah, b.
1783 (according to the 1850 Ca1dwe11 Co census) or 1785 according to her death
record in 1857, Lyon Co KY. Both sources agree that she born in Jefferson Co KY.
The death report shows that "Sarah, a widow, died at age 71 of typhoid. Occupation
midwife. Parents JOHN & MARY VAUGHAN". Peter and Sarah HILDRETH's children were:
MARY B., m. HARVEY DOOM; JOHN A.; PRESTON M. ffl. MINERVA JANE LOVE;
DORCAS C.; HARRIETT A.; JEROME.

family letters and dippings as well as a family history of RUBY 0 SHARON whose
father was ENOS BENNET VAUGHN, one of the descendants of the original ENOS & PATSY.

VAUGHN (no date given), to ROWLAND COLLINS VAUGHN who m. ELIZA ANN MARTIN in 1849.
Their son ENOCH COLLINS VAUGHN m. SARAH E. HARWELL in 1877. And their son LEMUEL
COLLINS VAUGHN m. ANNIE CLEO BARKER in 1901. These families lived in Coos a Co AL and
Hi1am Co TX. The family has used both spellings of Vaughan/Vaughn.
