VERIEL, WILSON, 12413 Cambridge Blvd. South Lyon, MI 48178 has learned a little more about her ancestor WILLIAM VAUGHAN, b 1818, Crab Orchard, Lincoln Co KY. Veriel sent for the marriage certificate of William and his second wife (whom he married late in life). As she is descended from the first wife, she never thought about there being information on a later marriage certificate that would help in the search. But it contained the name of William's parents—MALACHI (MALAKI) & Nancy T.  This confirmed information given to her by a cousin 4 times removed that she had discovered by an ad in the GENEALOGICAL HELPER. The cousin's grandmother's diary had said his name was Malachi—then the marriage application proved it. Apparently William never left KY, even though Veriel cannot find a trace of hr in court house records. But his oldest son NEWMAN VAUGHN went to Bond Co, IL.

MARGARET WONDERLEIGH, 647 Orange St. Chillicothe, OH 45601 hopes to find others researching this family.  She has more data (from pension records) on some of the children who went to the Nashville, TN area.

In the January 1986 issue of the Newsletter I printed info for ESTHER CERVETTO, 24 Sea May, San Rafael, CA 94901 on this family.     She wrote that most of her research came from cousins 'living in Huntsville, Madison Co AL. I never heard from Esther again, so hope she has access to a copy of the Newsletter so she can learn about Mr. Vassar's work.
