A FEW SUGGESTIONS ABOUT SUBMITTING MATERIAL FOR PUBLICATION
As the amount of material submitted by participants has grown, proper- filing, retrieval, typing,
and abstracting has grown in proportion.   To avoid errors and lost letters, may I suggest ideas
which pertain to material submitted to any publication or to exchanges between researchers.
—-Small pieces of paper get lost!   Notebook (typing page) size, about -8 x 11 inch, fits into
standard folders and is easier to control.
—-Write, print, or type on one side of paper only, using 1 to 2 inch margins.
—If typing or using computer printer, use a dark ribbon so material can be photocopied.  Make
a carbon copy for your own files.
—Try to be concise, giving dates, places, names clearly.   Abstracting material takes  hours  to
 prepare for publication.
—Use standard family sheet or ancestral chart formats for listing family data. This helps avoid
mis-interpretation of facts.  Generation mixing is a common error, particularly when the same
first name is repeated in a family line.
—Information which is submitted on colored paper or has been marked over with highlighting
pens does not photocopy well.
—Document data so it can be traced and verified by others.

FAMILY SHEETS AND ANCESTRAL CHARTS
In the June and November 1988 issues, I plan to concentrate on printing family sheets and
ancestral (pedigree) charts.  If you have not submitted yours, please do so immediately.  You
may photocopy my computer form given on the back page of the November 1985 issue or
use any other standard form.   If you need one, send me a SASE.  Some of you still have
working copies of family sheets which I prepared from material you submitted.   Could you
check those for accuracy and return them so they can be printed?   If you have misplaced
yours, let me know, and I wi'11 send duplicates.  Try to get family sheets and charts to me
soon because sometimes extra time is needed to clarify questions which arise.

THANKS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND GENEROSITY
Your words of appreciation and generous donations of money and information are what keep
me worlong on the newsletter.  Your help has made it possible to print more family material
and to arrange for professional printing.
