ALTON ORR, 4619 Holt St. Bellaire. TX 77401 adds these notes to his family chart as givenon
p. 28 of the June 1987 issue:  The marriage of WOODY VAUGHAN and SARAH FARRAR
on 11 Dec 1804 is recorded at the Mecklenburg Co Court House, in VA, but he has no supporting
documents.  They lived in the Lewis Parham District, of Roanoke River.  SANDIFER BOWERS
also lived there.   He theorizes that Woody, Sarah, and children were moving to Tennessee when
they stopped in NC to visit relatives or friends.  Sarah had relatives in Granville Co, and there were
also Vaughans there. He doesn't know what happened to Woody, but he died in NC in 1813.
After his death, Sarah and children continued the trip to Rutherford Co TN.  About 1823 SARAH
 m. ROBERT RANKIN, who is reported to have been born in NC.  He could have been in the
group with Sarah that made the trip to TN.  This was Rankin's second marriage.  In 1829 the families
moved to Shelby Co IL, where Sarah & Robert both died in 1845.

SHERRILL BOURN, 4257 Timuquana Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32210 is becoming quite an "expert"
on ancestors and descendants of EDMOND VAUGHAN and ELIZABETH SMITH.  See
former issues of the Newsletter.  Recently she received a cemetery list  that shows that
Edmond/Edmund and Elizabeth were buried near Chem'er, LA.  This was a surprise to her, as
she thought they died on Pecon Island—and maybe they did.  It's only 30 miles or so—by
BOAT in those days????  She and others working on the same line are still trying to sort out
Edmund's grandchildren (James and Louis' children).  Can you help?  Sherrill reminds us that
HISTORY OF SOUTHWEST LA by Father Hebert 1s a goldmine of information on Vaughans
and others.  There are 33 volumes.

MARY Z. BROWN  1007 Carolina. Graham, TX 76046 and JOHN HART. Rt1, Box 27-B,
Gentry AR 72734 have discovered that they are "Cousins".He sent for a set of the newsletters
in June of this year.  In one of them he found material Mary had sent fit his line.  So now they
have helped each other.  Mary sent information about a VAUGHAN CLAN REUNION which
seems to be held August each year at Wister Lake OK.If interested in meeting a lot of cousins
and "near" cousins, contact Mary, or IMOGENE VAUGHN COLEMAN, 813 Yucca St,
