old wedding customs 1n VA and KY.One part reads: "If simplicity is wanted in a wedding ceremony,
some Indian tribes had the answer. When WILLIAM PATRICK VAUGHN rode into a Cherokee
village in NC 240 years ago (in 1740?) to trade trinkets and cloth, he and Fair-a-Bee Lunah (fair as
the moon), daughter of a sub-chief, fell in love and in a few days were married . The ceremony was
simply a matter of wrapping a blanket around the couple."

A special rememberance of JUDGE ALBERT TATE, JR, US Court of Appeals, New Orleans,
LA, although having no Vaughan/Vaughn connections, shared in 1984 some of his extensive research
which helped SHERRILL BOURN & others locate their ancestors.
