SAM VAUGHN. ST-28 lake Cherokee, Henderson. TX 75652 has traced the geneology
of three of his grandparents back to the 1600's, but has never been able to trace the Vaughn
side. His father was SAMUEL BRIGGS VAUGHN. b 21 Jul 1906, Nashville, TN. Grandad
was HARRY EDWARD VAUGHN, b 1880's in either Tennessee or Bowling Green, KY.
Is that enough to give someone a clue?
MRS. DAN L. BELL, 528 West 31st St. Houston, TX 77018 believes she has a Vaughn
connection because her gr-gr grandfather JAMES BARNES had the Revolutionary soldier
JOEL VAUGHAN in his household in the 1840 census of Neshoba Co MS. Is this Joel
one of the Joels mentioned at various times in the Newsletter?
SUSAN BLAIR, 809 125TH Lane NE. Blaine. <W 55434 is trying to locate any facts
about her father's paternal grandmother MARY VAUGHN. The only information that she
has is from the son's marriage certificate. MARY VAUGHN was m. to JOHN ANDERSON
in TN in 1884/85. Their son JOHN B. ANDERSON, m 1911 HAZEL LOUISE GILES in
1911. That is all she has to go on, and she wants to complete a family genealogical history
for her Dad's 75th birthday.

on EMMA ROSE VAUGHN, who was born in Lueders, Jones Co TX, north of Abilene, in
1883. She was the wife of B.A. STEVENS.

on TIMOTHY VAUGHN, d cal759. New Kent Co VA and wife SARAH ?, d 1772. Their
children were MARY-(m. WILLIAM NANCE), DAVIS, TIMOTHY, HENRY, SARAH,
GATE RABLY. These names come; from Timothy's will. Dec 1759, New Kent Co VA.
JANET MINERD. 9855 Shadow Hay. Apt iH316. Dallas. TX 75243 seeks information on
ISABEL VAUGHN who m. WILLIAM ERWIN." Their son ALE'XANDER ERWIN was
born Shade Gap, PA in the early 1800's. Not much to go on, but maybe someone can help.
MARY MURPHY, 3425 Fry Ave, Tyjer, TX 75701 searches for the identity of GEORGE
VAUGHAN of Franklin Co GA.All she knows about him is information contained in a
power of Attorney which was recorded in the Alabama Territory (now Clarke Co AL).
THOMAS COX, who m MARY VAUGHAN, and his brother MATTHEW COX, who m
NANCY VAUGHAN, appointed HEZEKIAH STEPHENS of Franklin Co GA to act as
their agent in affairs pertaining to the estate of GOERGE VAUGHAM who was their father-
in-law. Vaughan was deceased by the time this instrument was filed 21 Nov 1817.
LILLIAN RITZ. 4119 Rogero Rd. Jacksonville. FL 32211 searches for ASHER VAUGHN
who lived in New Jersey. That is the only information she sent, so I'm hoping that someone will
recognize the name as Asher is a little unusual.
MARIAH SCHAEFER, 1101 HUmington Ave. Apt. A. Dayton, OH 45420 has a number of
connections with Vaughns through her SECUREST line in KY who had migrated from
Frederick Co VA ca 1785. Wish she had sent more data.
MARIE OAKERMON.306 W. 4th Plain. #2, Vancover. WA 98660 sent a record copied by
her father JOHN WILLIAM VAUGHN while visiting m New Bloomfield, MO in 1912. The
record begins with WILLIAM and NANCY CRUSE and was taken from a Bible printed in
1812 which was handed down to SARAH CATHERINE VAUGHAN who m. WILLIAM
HOLT. "WILLIAM CRUSE and NANCY MARTIN were'm Dec 20, 1790, in VA. Their
dau, Catherine M. CRUSE, was b April 25, 1805. TILMAM G. VAUGHAN was b Oct 22,
1806, and he and CATHERINE M. CRUSE were married Sept 2, 1824 in VA. One son,
WILLIAM L. VAUGHAN, was born to them in VA on Aug 5, 1825 and he died in 1901.
Gilman G., his wife and son went to MO about 1835. William L. married MARIAH BLYTHE
in 1843. Their five children were: JOHN TILMAN, b 28 Apr 1845; THOMAS M., b 14
Nov 1840; SARAH C., b 11 Sep 1849; ROBERT SMITH, b 8 Dec 1853; JOSEPH HIRAM,
b Jun 1857. Marie has tried to trace where Tillman C. was born and where his family came from.
Her father said he was Irish-English from his father and French-Irish from his mother. More of this
