near the Rutherford line. Nearby names indicate his wife (widow?) was the
JANE
VAUGHAN on the 1850 Mort Sched. Davidson Co TN.

Have not been able to identify any children of ASHLEY & JANE (GREGORY) VAUGHAN, for Gregory
genealogy (OR siblings of Ashley Vaughan).
Wonder how Ashley Vaughan fit in with other Vaughans of the area in VA. His father could have been
in Charlotte, Mecklenburg or Lunenburg.
Ashley Vaughan's name appears in a "Yates & Knight's Shop Book" - 1822.
Blacksmith business located on the S. Meherrin R. (div. line bet. Mecklenburg & Lunenburg Counties, VA)
where "Yatesville" & "Mill Grove" were on the old maps. VAUGHAN accts. were: Ashley; Willis; and
Pleasant.
