RICHARD MANNING s/o EPHRAIM MANNING and JOANNA his wife was Born in
Knowlton, Sussex County New Jersey, March 17th 1777. Departed this life December 9th 1829.
LYDIA VAUGHAN, d/0 DANIEL VAUGHAN and DINAH his wife was Born in Knowlton,
Sussex County, New Jersey, December 16th 1778. Departed this life February 19th 1848.
There are many more MANNING and ERVY entries.
Although Donna has no Vaughan connections, she has carefully preserved this Bible and placed
information from it in the WHATCOM CO WA GEN. SOCIETY BULLETIN, the Seattle, WA
Public Library, and the New York City Library. If this is your line, please let her know of your
Interest. She has photocopies of the original and also typed pages. Include long SASE and some
stamps to cover her costs.
MARILYN ERPS, 1397 Sheridan, Plymouth, MI 48170 is interested in these two Vaughan
women who,were probably sisters: MARY (Polly) VAUGHAN m. JESSE HILL ca1805,
probably in Culpepper Co, VA. First child was born there in 1806. Family later moved to
Tuscarawas Co OH. CHARITY VAUGHAN m. CHARLES HILL (s/o CHARLES HILL
and b/o JESSE HILL) 19 May 1799. There were 4 children born in VA, the last being May
1906. They also moved to Tuscarawas Co OH by 1810. She thinks that WILLIAM HILL
is a child of this family. Information she has collected suggests that BLACK and SUMMERS
were also surnames in this family. Is this the Vaughan-Hill family mentioned In earlier newsletters?
GEORGE OSBORNE, 3650 Ashford Dunwdy Rd NE, f4-L, Atlanta, GA 30319 descends
from SARAH VAUGHN, b. 1779 in SC, to GEORGE VAUGHN, b. ca1740, in SC to
WILLIAM and BARBARA VAUGHN. Sarah married JOSEPH MCCRACKEN in 1798.
Her mother was named DORCAS. Sarah died 22 Dec 1867.
