JAMES ALBIS, Rt 2, Box 57, Fortuna, MO 65034 believes that BENJAMIN VAUGHAN was
possibly the fattier of JAMES b. 1817 and Joseph b. 1816 in KY.  In 1820 a Benjamin was listed
in Monroe Co KY with two males under ten.  Benjamin did not appear in 1830 census, but names
of others that were with him in KY in 1820 appear in 1830 in Missouri.  James and Joseph are
among that group. Later census records indicate that their father (Benjamin?) was born in Virginia.
Can you help him with this riddle?

PATTI BRANDLE, 845 East Broadway, Gushing, QIC 74023 passes on this hint which helped in her
research. She had searched the St. Joseph MO '1900 Soundex three times for her Vaughans but couldn't
find them.  A friend suggested that she try looking under VAUN.  And then she found her familiesi  I've
had similar experiences when searching the Soundex listings.  I kept looking for my grandfather JOHN
MCCARTY VAUGHAN.  (Notice that I am precise on the spelling).  Then I began reading the
children's names, looking for my mother FLOSSIE.  And there was the entire family, with my granddad's
name written JOHNNY VAUGHN.  Remembering that very dignified Justice of Peace in Hill County,
TX grandpa who always insisted that the nama be spelled VAUGHAN, I found myself almost shaking
my hand at that transcriber for having "done that to MY GRANDPA."  When I located the family on the
census roll, I found the full name recorded correctly.  So look for all possibilities!

LANELL DUNN, 5713 Schutz, Houston, TX 77032 suggests that possibly  a future publication be a
complication of family sheets and pedigree charts. Many of you have already sent me full details on your
family.  If you have not, she suggests that it alight be a good way of preserving and passing on research
in a compact, documented format.  Do you have any ideas?
