"A. VAUGHAN & E. VAUGHAN were granted a divorce in the Florida Territory."
From the "Georgia Black Book (a list of proclamations), Felons, Events, etc. of GA (1810-1890):
(1) DARLING VAUGHAN, convicted larceny. 2 years imprisonment 25 Mar 1837-1839,
Columbia Co GA, served sentence. (2) CLAIBORN VAUGHAN, .murdered by JACOB
PETTYJOHN, Forsyth Co.
OLGA BLAKENEY. 1901 Tennessee, Baytowa, TX 77520 sent a family sheet for SAMUEL
VAUGHAN b 1790? and m. 1838 NANCY NICKLESON. Their children weres SAMUEL,
WILLIAM, and VIRGINIA MATILDA who m. JOHN PAGE HOUSTON in 1857. All born in
Alabama. This same family was given by PATRICIA SAILEi, 113 Birch Ave, Florence, AL 3S630 on p. 13 of April 1984 and p. 47 of Novemner 1985 issues of the Newsletter.
HENRY BRADFORD, 438 So. 127th Bast Ave., Tulaa, OK 74128 searches for siblings and
parents of 3LISHA vaughan, 3 1739 VA, and married martha PATSEY ?. Their children, all born mid 1800's, were: BENJAMIN, MAHALIA, THOMAS B. (m MARY STARK), ELVIRA
(m HENRY T. WOODS), ALVIN KEMP (m MARY SMITH WOOD), SARAH, JOSEPH,
MARTHA (m PRUITT), ELIZABETH, SUSANNAH, PERSCSE, CHARITY, MARY F.,
JAMES R. Son Benjamin (b 1830) m. Ellender ? in 1853 in Miller Co HO. Their children:
SERILDA, MARTHA JANE, GEORGE WASHINGTON (31 ISABELL BUNKER), SARAH
M., ISABEL (m HENRY POSTEN), RHODA 3., DAVID H., ROSA MATILDA (m SAM
BUCKNER or BLANKENSHIP). ELISHA had brothers JOSHUA and possibly REUBEN who
lived in VA, maybe Bedford Co.
JO ALICE BRADFORD, P.O. Box 156, Archibald, CA 71218 knows very little about her Vaughan connections. Her husband's ancestor was WILLIAM BRADFORD (b AL) who married ELIZABETH VAUGHN (or VAUGH) o in SC. Tradition says that she was English. Their children were; JAMES NOEL, FRANK OLIVER WEATHERSPOON, & ARTHUR. William and Elizabeth's birthplaces were found in Frank's census listing,
MARY Z. BROWS, 100 Carolina, Graham, TX 76046 has gathered a lot of information on Vaughns but can't find her ENOCH b 1814 in Middle TN and d 1891 Pope Co AR. He was married 3 or 4 times:
(1) before he left TN for AR(?), (2) MARGARET ELIZABETH PETTY (TX), (3) LETHIA NAPIER, a widow of pope Co AR, (4) HANNAH MULLIGAN. Children by all wives were: ABIGAIL, ROBERT, ELIZABETH, ALFRED, SARAH ANN, ANGILENE, GEORGE, JAMES F., JOHN CALHOUN, SARAH, MARTHA, ENOCH LaFAYETTE, AMANDA LUCINDA LOUISE CORDELIA. Her ancestor chart on this family reads:
1. JAMES LEE VAUGHN b 1891, a. PEARL VIOLA BRITTON, 1911.
2. GEORGE ALFRED VAUGHN, b 1872, d 1947, m. NANCY ANN TREADWELL, 1890.
3. JOHN CALHOUN VAUGHN, a 1853, d 1871 LeFlore Co OK, m RHODA FRANCIS KINDRICK.
4. ENOCH VAUGHN, b 1814, rtl MARGARET ELIZABETH PETTY.
Other lines Mary is researching are BARRETT, BOTKIN, BRITTON, BROWN, CROW, KNIGHT,
LEDBETTER, LEMONS. SULLENGER, TIFFEE, TREADWELL.
LEE BURGE, 2204 Rosille, Baytown, TX 77520 knows only this little bit about the Vaughans:
HARTWELL FREEMAN VAUGHAN, b 1832, Maury Co TN, m 1874 CATHERISE MOFFITT.
Their dau VITURA, b 1880 in Springfield, IL, m in 1902 WILLIAM H. SMITH. Their son JESSIE M. SMITH was b 1910 in Springfield. Can you give Lee more clues?

at an American military complex that she is searching from long distance for more facts on HARRIETT E. VAUGHN who m JOHN DEMPSEY. Harriet's parents wera DAVID J. VAUGHN and SARAH ELIZABETH JOHNSON who m 1832 ir; Webster Co KY. Can you sand her suggestions about where to write for help? Wouldn't it be nice if she could trace her lines to the British Isles so she could do research on them while living there?

MARY 1839; ELIZABETH 1841; JAMES 1844; WILLIAM 1846; THOMAS LAFAYETTE 1846; NANCY 1850; DAVID and JULIA. Last record he has is the 1850 census where they were in Hamilton Co TN. He has complete record of THOMAS LAFAYETTE CHRISTIAN line.
