Vaughan/Rives families. She sent transcribed copies of pension papers for JAMES
VAUGHAN #S-7779 and JAMES VAUGHAN #S-37497. If you would like to have
papers, send me a SASE and two extra stamps (for each pension) to pay for copying
costs.
She also sent excerpts on Vaughans taken from "Reliques of the Rives (Ryves)" by
James Childs. If you want copies of these pages, send me a SASE (39c) plus four
stamps for copying costs. She suggests that if you are in Memphis to go to Elmwood
Cemetery and read books in office about Gen't ___ Vaughan who is buried there.
They even include pictures of the family.
She has a large collection of material on Vaughans, but needs names plus dates,
locations, etc., before she is able to identify definite ones. If you ask hr for help,
please include such data if possible. Also remember the courtesy of including self-
addressed stamped envelopes when corresponding with helpers,--and most people
do remember. But sometimes I receive requests on postal cards, etc. I always
answer anyway, but some researchers do not.
I have my direct line on VAUGHAN worked back to Rev. Patriot & most ref's are in
the "Reliques of the Reves". On a 6-generation DAR Ancestral Chart, as follows:
