Houston Co Texas about 1855.
WILSOS B. VAUGHAN, 126 Oleander Dr, Panama City Beach^ ?L 32407 sends thanks to
the above Miles C. Vaughan and the NEWSLETTER for information that has made it possible
to trace Wilson's 5-year old grandson MATTHEW WILSON VAUGHAM's blood line back
for eight generations. Last summer wilson found the graves of his grandparents in Brown's Valley, AL. He thought others of the Hundley-Manoah line might enjoy knowing where these gravesites are located. JAMES MURPHY VAUGHAN and his father HIRAM JACKSON VAUGHAN and wife (name not legible on tombstone) are buried at Ebell Cemetery near Summit, AL.
MANOAH VAUGHAN and wife Elizabeth are buried at the Gilbreath Cemetery in Red Hill, AL
(Brown's Valley). Also, ARE VAUGHAN and wife are buried at Gilbreath Cemetery. He was
unable to locate the graves-ite of Hundley, father of Manoah Vaughan.

POPE who were m. 13 Dec 1804 in Goochland, VA. She is also interested in THOMAS
VAUGHN who m NANCY JACKSON in KY.
MATTIE JUDICE Star Route A, Box 570, FranklinJ LA 70538 has learned more about EDGAR AND OPHELIA VAUGHN. (See NEWSLETTER, p 51, Nov. 1985). Edgar's parents were OLIVIER VAQGHN & PHILOMENE GAUTREAUX. Their wedding 25 May 1896 is recorded in New Iberia, LA Court House Mar 15290-A and Loreauville Catholic Church, V2, p. 54, taken from Rev. Donald Hebert's SOUTHWEST LA RECORDS, V. 27, 1896. She has found only one child who was SIDNEY, b Mar 1897, Loreauville, LA, v2, p. 141, Hebert Records, v28.
CRAIG W. SMITH, 718 N. Olive, Seguin_,_ TX 78155 has more info on his great grandparents BECKHAM VAUGHAN (b early 1800's in SC) and HARRIET AUGUSTA WARD (b GA) who
were married in early 1830's. In 1830 he was living in Edgefield Co SC; but by 1838 they were in Lowndes Co AL as he is named in Dr. SAMUEL ferryman's will to settle Dr. Ferryman's business in that county- Ferryman lived in the Abbeyville District of SC. By the 1840's Beckham and wife were in Mobile, AL where it seems they re:nained the rest of their lives. They had two daughters:
Margaret (Maggie) who m. JAMES NEWBERRY in 1858 in Mobile and EMMA CAROLINE
who m WILLIAM F. HUNT in 1856. William and Emma moved to TX about 1868, living first in Lavaca Co and then moved to Kyle, Hays Co TX where they died in early 1900's. He seeks
information on Beckham's and Harriet's parents plus any additional facts known.
Note from Verna: I find it interesting that they were in the Kyle area because my gr grandparents
ROBERT YOUNG VAUGHAN & MARTHA ANGELINE TRIPLETT lived there with their
children for a while following the Civil War. Also, the town of Kyie is named for a descendant of
Capt. Robert Kyle, grfather of R. Y. Vaughan. I cannot see a connection between these families,
but it is an interesting coincidence.
BERNIECE VAUGHAN, 2044 Kenyay, Lodi,_CA_95240 brought to my attention that I typed
the incorrect name for the Vaughan from whom John Albin descends. It should have been Joseph—not John. See last word on p. 45 of November 1985 NEWSLETTER.
