VAUGHAN - WILCHER - HAMMOND CONNECTIONS
WILBURN AND CLARA PARK., 3212 Kirkcaldy, El Paso, TX 79925 and MARGAHET
SINCLAIR, 3827 Mary Lee, Memphis, TN 38116 find they have common Vaughan - Wilcher -
Hammond liaes. Each has done extensive research on these families. The latter below from
Wilbur to Margaret and information on the following two pages show how documentation
has been established. Can you add to their data?

For many years ay vita and I thought we were the only people la the world who were researching
this Thomas Vaughan—Thomas Wilchar family. And, as you suggested In one of your queries, thia
Vaughan family does have a connection to a Hanmond family. We have proved these connection
by studying county records In Warren County, Tennessee, and in Cooper County, Missouri. We
have no Information about a Heflln or a Walton family.Do you want to exchange documentation
and other data with met According to our documentation, the names of the children of Ritrler
(Ritnier, Kitty) (Wilchar) and Thomas Vaughan, Sr.-are correct in the book that you say is in the
Wheeler Baain Library, except Alberta should be Alberti) (Usually called Bert), and Stirling was
also spelled Starling and Sterling. Although there is a tradition that Sterling Vaughan was Kitty's
child, we have not found his name in any document proving him to be her son or Thomas Vaughan's
son.
At this point, I am uncertain about which Hammond Mary (Polly) Vaughan married. It va.s either
Laroy Hamaond, who stayed in Warren County, Tenn., or Ell E. Basmond, who went to Cooper
County, Missouri. Please tell ma how you came under the influence of the Vaughan-Wllcher names.
This is my connection to them:
Sterling Park m. Ollle Goolsby (my parents)
William Burney Park m. Tennessee Ann Vaughan McLenMan Co. & Bills Co., Tx
Albarto Vaughan a. Martha Jane Boyal Warren Co., Tenn. They cama to Tx ca. 1836.
Thomas Vaughan, Sr. m. Ritniar (Kitty) Wilchar, dau of Thomas & Ann Wilcher
m. 2nd Sarah Jenkins
a. 3rd Nancy ( Thos. Sr. died 1827, Cooper Co., Ho)
Have you seen Thomas Wilcher "s deed of gift, which la also called his will, and the lengthy settlement
of his estate. Ha listed wife Anne, two sons, and six daughters In the deed. Ha named his grandchildren
Polly, Thomas, and Aaron 7»ughan; and Sandy England and Polly Taylor as grandchildren of his daughter
•i=aifrad; and his granddaughter Rachel Chambers as dau of Nancy SCanton by Nancy's first marriage.
The Sessions went to Blount Co., Ala.
I look forward to hearing from you.                     Wilbur G. Park, Sr.     June 1985
