A SUCCESS STORY!
CAROLYN PRATT, 228 Rayburn, St. Louis, MO 63127 wrote, It is no longer necessary to publish
my query. Here is what happened: In the NEWSLETTER I saw a query by Alice Moore, 149 Village
Green, #505, Universal City, TX 78148 which listed some names in allied lines that sounded familiar
and the location given was where a picture of my gr grandmother was made. So I sent her what I knew
plus a picture that simply said 'Grandpa Vaughn' on the back. He was my gr-grandmother's father, For
12 years I have searched for this family. Alice immediately called me saying "You have sent a picture
of my gr-grandfather." She has his family and other information which she has shared with me. Oh,
you cannot imagine my publication upon receiving this windfall after 12 years," When Carolyn gets her
family sheets put togeher. we shall print those.

MILES C. VAUGHAN, 12318 Castle Bend Dr. San Antonjn-. TX - 78230  seeks information on
WALTON H. VAUGHAN b 1811 and married (1) SAVANA SHADE, (2) SARAH ANN BRADY
on 3 May 1846 in Marshall Co MS. She died 1857 Palestine, TX. He also seeks data on HONDLEY
VAUGHAN b 1750 VA and moved to Franklin Co GA and raised 7 sons: HUNDLEY,  ABNER,
BENJAMIN, LITTLEBERRY, MANOAH, MELKIJAH. WILLIAM H. What was the name of

Hundley's wife and, date and place of their marriage?

AMN MINTER, P.O. Box 6781, San Bernardino, CA 92412 has books entitled 'Some Virginia
Marriages" (published by Cecil McDonald, Jr. of Seattle, WA) which she will be hapy to search for
Vaughans. Be sure to include a SASE. This is a nice gesture on her part because she doesn't even
have any Vaughans in her line.

MERLE BRANTLEY, 3905 Lionel St., Monroe, LA 71203 sent information about the family of
JOHN HENRY VAUGHAN &  MARY JANE THOMAS. John Henry was reported to have riden
with Jesse James, John Wesley Hardin, and the Dalton gang. Maybe this family connects to the story
printed in the July 1984 NEWSLETTER about the Joe Vaughan who claimed to be Jesse James. A
family sheet will be printed in the June issue.

CHARLES B. VAUGHAN, 442 Conduitt Dr., Mooresville, IS 46158 wrote that in his lonely-and
unsuccessful-searches through the years that he has often wondered if he were the only Vaughan in the

US interested in his heritage.  Don't you feel that way sometimes?  I do when searching my own line I -
But you readers keep me going as you continue to send in more wonderful material.  But where are "my"
Vaughans and Charles' Vaughans?   See 1984 issues, pages 6, 8, 12, 24, 49. He has contributed much
material,

MARTHA J. VAUGHAN,"2557 Glenfield St., Dallas. TX 75233 has traced her husband JIMMIE
LEE VAUGHAN back through is father THOMAS LEE (b in AR), son of JAMES ROBERT (b in AR)
who was son of J. R. VAUGHAN. The last mentioned J. R. was in Poinsett Co AR in 1850 census with
a 1 year old son. This was the correct age of James Robert. There was also a daughter (the initial I.) who
was the proper age to be James Robert's sister ISABELLE. The elder Vaughan listed his place of birth as
VA. She has more information on these people.
