History Commission and discovered that they were working on the same Vaughn line. Desmond
has heard about this "MATHA PATSY VAUGHN since she was a child. There were tales
about her extreme old age and that she was a "witch," who supposedly cast spells on some family
members. She suspected these stories were a lot of nonsense until she heard similar stories recently
from a distant branch of the family, Martha was said to have had some uncanny ability to predict
the future, with several examples passed along. When she was 90 or so, she apparently died; but
when the family was preparing her for burial, a warm spot was detected in the back of her head;
and the burial was postponed. She lay in a coma for 3 weeks, came out of it and lived 10 more
years.
Desmond found unsigned research material at the History Commission, which she has now
confirmed as being done by Victor Talton Vaughn, Jr, His parents have a photo of Martha Patsy
who was b cl817 in AL and d in 1911 in Sharp Co, AR.. She has also found the remains of her
log cabin and her grave, which thanks to Victor, Jr., is marked with a legible tombstone.According
to the pedigree chart compiled by Victor Talton Vaughan, Jr. (see p.33, June 1985 NEWSLETTER),

JESSIE HAMP, M.A., ALPHA, M.M. m3 M. J. McCAGHREN—no children. Roger has data on
