BENJAMIN, ELIZA, IRENE, S OBADIAH. Was Stephen Vaughn married and divorced from

LINDA HILL 103.0. Millard Dr^ Kacpgdpches, TX 75961 is working on the family of WYATT B.
VAUGHN. According to the 1860 Rusk Co TX Census, he was b cl820 in VA. A family Bible entry
says he was born in Alexander (prob Alexandria) VA. He died serving in the CSA and was buried
around Galveston, TX. His military records are lost, but Linda has CSA widow's pension papers for his
wife Eliza. She has traced him back to Taliaferro and Greene Cos in GA. He is listed in a will of ROBERT
ASTIN, his step-father, which also names his mother NANCY VAUGHN ASTIN and his half-sister
REBECCA ASTIN. In 1847 he married ELIZA J. PARKER in Greene Co GA. His half-sister Rebecca
m Eliza's brother EDWIN S. PARKER. About 1852 the Parker and Vaughn families moved to Texas
where they bought land near Mt. Enterprise, Rusk Co. Descendants still own and live on this land.
Children of WYATT & Eliza were;
JOHN M. , SUSAN E, VINCENT THORNTON, OLENZA BURMAH, NANCY JANE, WILLIAM
THOMAS, MARSHALL, S JABEZ C. (JABE).
Iiinda seeks name of father of Wyatt. Did he Have other siblings?

ALICE JONES  1410 Westminster, Richardson TX 75081 is gr-daughter of MARY ELIZABETH
VAUGHAN who was orphaned at age 3 and reared by an unrelated family. She always said that her
mother was ATHENA GOSS from MS. According to 1850/60 Lawrence Co AR census Theny or
Thany, was b ca 1821 in AL. She and her husband WILLIAM VAUGHN apparently lived in MS
during the 1840's, arriving in AR in 1847. A DR. LOWS, relationship unknown, was with them, but
died before 1849. Mary Elisabeth's known siblings were  JULIA, WILLIAM, ALBERT, JOSEPHINE,
& JAMES. Alice wonders if ATHENA GOSS was IRENA GOSS BERNARD, as a WILLIAM
VAUGHN & IRENA BERNARD were married in Lowndes Co MS in 1837. They were still there
in 1840 but gone by 1850. EVERITT LOW, who was in Choctaw Co MS in 1840, is the most likely
person that she has found to have been the "DR. LOW." Can you help Alice find her family?
