VAUGHAN, SR. He was s of RICHARO VAUGHAN of Dinwiddie Co. VA (Rev War soldier).
He was born 1770/75. Probably married in VA and then moved to SC where children were born; and
then moved to GA, AL, and finally to Walton Co. FL. About 1830 the Vaughans lived near Pea River,
west of Geneva, AL where they lived a pioneer type of life until land titles were established by homesteading.
They owned some slaves when they moved to FL, and several worked for them after the Civil War.
Michael is assumed to have married a POWELL based on the name of his youngest son ABINER
POWELL VAUGHAN, b. 1802 in SC. Other children were JAMES B. 1792, Michael Jr. b. 1796; and
Mrs. EDMUND JONES b 1798.
