Vincent (4) who died 1837 is the same one mentioned in will of Vincent (3) of Northampton Co NC who
left property to "Vincent Vaughan, son of John Vaughan." Vincent (3) was son of Vincent (2), whose will
of 1749 lists children VINCENT, JOSHUA, MARGARET (ml HAZELWOOD S m2 BREATHERN),
SARAH (mlHENRt JONES, m2 WADE HAMPTON, m3 CRUMP), HENRY, & NOEL HUTCHENS.

BOBBY ROGERS, 465 Crestmont Circle, Biytheville, AR 72315 has traced his family back to JOSEPH
HENRY VAUGHN, b 1858 middle TN and d 1938 in Obion Co TN and is buried there without
headstone in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery. His son was WILLIE VAUGHN, 1892-1971, buried
near father. Anyone know more about this family?

m ASA FLEMON VAUGHAN c 1828 TN and lived in Pontotock Co MS 1840-80. Children;

REBECCA VAUGHAN, 304 S. Union, Bolivar, TN 38008 cannot locate parents of BENJAMIN
VAUGHAN (see p. 34, July). Census records all state born in SC. She found a copy of a poem he had
writte". in an 1880 copy of local newspaper. Editor said that his father was a Rev. Soldier and that he was
born in lower James River of VA. But she has not been been able to find more. Another family tradition is
that the name GRANVILLE (her husband's name) has been a family name for generations, but she has
been able to trace it back only two generations—to JAMES GRANVILLE, son of Benjamin. She found
GRANVILLE VAUGHANS in early NC but could find no connections.

The London England Telephone directory contains fifteen or more columns of Vaughans spelled with
the final A, and only three entries without it.
