From A HISTORY OF HILL COUNTY, TX, written by MARION SHOEMAKER HORN, "Most people
say the community of Vaughan, TX was named for Dr. B. H. VAUGHAN (1852-1924).  Before and after
1880 he lived and practiced medicine at Vaughan, later moving into Hillsboro, Dr, Vaughan was one of the founders of the Hill County Medical Association... A contract for working Bell Cemetery at Vaughan was
signed on December 31,. 1915.-Mr, Bell, years ago, gave the land to the Vaughan Cemetery, and it was
 named for him,"
