William H. Vaughan (possible father of Murphy
Vaughan)
Although there is NO proof, most people I have worked with on this Vaughan project think Murphy Vaughan is the son of William H. Vaughan b. 1875 VA and died between 1847-1855 in Layfette Co., MS. I tried to connect him to a William Vaughan in Tennessee, but it did not work. I have looked in VA in several counties, the VA state archives and library, and many county libraries for any Vaughan who had a will or any Vaughan in VA that had a Murphy. Nothing! I have done the same extensive work in Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, and what I have is all I have proven.
Murphy Vaughan was born 22 Dec 1816 in Marshall Co or Monroe Co, MS. He died 14 Dec 1867 in Palestine, Anderson Co, TX.
He married Louisa Conniway/Conaway. She was born in 1822 in Loundes Co., MS and died in 1868.
His son John Oscar Vaughan was born 10 Aug 1854 in Anderson Co, TX and died 16 Jan 1919 in Anderson Co, TX.
He married Mary/Mollie Jane Shaid/Shade in 1878. She was born in 1831 in Anderson Co, TX and died in 1916 in Anderson Co, TX.
His son Willie Arthur Vaughan, was born 23 June 1895 in Anderson Co, TX, and died 13 Jan 1979 Woodville, Tyler Co, TX.
He married Clora Pearl Hardy in 1915. She was born in 1897 in Anderson Co, TX and died
in 1949 in Anderson Co, TX.
His son Glenn Arthur Vaughan, was born 18 Jan 1924 was the person tested.
