Note: In the various tax digests, when there was more than one person of the same name, the tax collector may “tag” the person with: Sr. (the elder of the two - not necessarily the father), Jr. (the younger of the two - not necessarily the son), ST (Son of Thomas), AC (Aaron’s Cr.), Buff (Buffalo Cr.), etc. This was done from year to year and is NOT necessarily the same from year to year. The purpose of this table is to compare actual items taxed and compare them in an attempt to line everything up right. The first row is the A/B District followed by the page number from binnsgenealogy.com Tax Club when applicable. The second line is items taxed, typically (but not always) white tithes-older slaves-younger slaves-horses. In many cases unmistakable patterns or trends emerge. Skipped years are simply that. In most cases the years skipped simply did not contribute anything to the analysis. |
